Story: The Three-Body Problem (Chinese: 三体) is an upcoming Chinese science fiction film based on the novel The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin, directed by Panpan Zhang and starring Feng Shaofeng and Zhang Jingchu. The film is scheduled to be released in July 2016 in 3D.
The film has a budget of CN¥200 million. Filming began in March 2015 in Heilongjiang, produced by Yoozoo Film established in 2014 by Lin Qi.
Hundreds of physicists died mysteriously. A Chinese nanomaterials expert, WANG MIAO, sees mysterious countdown in his eyes. Soon he finds out that the "disastrous planet" under three suns in a game really exists. The three-body civilization there will reach the Earth in 400 years. A future catastrophe is coming for human beings.
